Wow, powerfully and courageously put.

I did't know you were an ex pentecostal. I've also got somewhat of a background in the pentecostal/charismatic movement (I worked for some years in Youth With A Mission, if you're familiar with that). I could very much relate to parts of what you were saying, particularly the part of the ex-pentecostal heart not bearing to say, that no one hears directly from God. And that part is what I think I'm struggling with. I do not think, that God was behind the election of Donald Trump in 2016 and I find the fawning over him extremely off-putting. However tjat supposedly some people "prophesied" about him becoming president beforehand is the sort of stuff, that bothers my former pentecostal heart. I'm not sure I "dare" to eholly embrace your words about them.

What I get out of my hesitancy is that many of these christian cultures really are difficult to free one self off.

I actually thought your point about those prophets and christians who might still be living in denial jan. 21st when Biden is president, opens up the door for some really scary "spiritual warfare" sessions and a worldview that will be so extremely unreal, that who knows what these people will think constitutes reality and the insane power that these interpreters of reality will have. Potential mass-delusion. Scary.
