I hope you feel better soon! Definitely agree with you here. As annoying as a random leftist online might be they'll never be as harmful as a Republican politician or donor. And regarding the Deconstruction/Exvangelical community, an issue I have with them and why I never identified with them is that I don't think Deconstruction should be a "permanent" community or subculture. I think its healthier for one to treat it as a temporary stopping point while one deconstructs their former conservative evangelicalism and then reconstruct into either another faith or another kind of principled community like secular humanism or whatever. Other faiths and secular humanists/UU etc have the advantage of having offline sites of community while, afaik, the Deconstruction/Exvangelical crowd is still primarily online. If that's changed over the last few years then I'm definitely open to being corrected. For me, deconstructing and then moving on to Islam gave me a more firm community to fall back on.
