I took the latest step in my writing career and have begun to write a book in earnest, with an incredible agency representing me, and I couldn’t be more excited. Yesterday, I did a way-too-hard-for-my-out-of-shape-ass hike with my partner Ty for Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and I have struggled to watch the news out of Palestine as people fight back against the apartheid they’ve been experiencing for decades.
I’ve been watching as fall blossoms around me, am switching out my slutty summer clothes for the colder season, and have been enjoying sermons from our new pastor at church. I have about a million people I want to invite for dinner, and I feel elements of my depression lifting as I desire to cook and bake more often. I still want to find more time for yoga and walks, as I miss it, and it always makes me feel better. I also can’t seem to keep my house clean, and I dream of the day when I can live in a nicer, bigger house that I own… but I’ll have to wait for more money to miraculously appear. I’ve been spending too much time watching Mormons and tradcaths and other people with whom I have no ideological agreement living the homestead, cottagecore lifestyle I deeply crave but cannot seem to attain.
I’m also deeply, deeply proud to have contributed to my friend Tyler Huckabee’s composition piece of people (including some of my favorite online friends) reviewing their favorite songs from Sufjan Stevens. The piece was in honor of Sufjan Stevens’ latest album, Javelin, but I don’t think any of us could have predicted that Stevens would use his album to come out as queer and dedicate it to his late partner, who passed away in April. What a tragic and awful way for him to come out, but the more queer Christian representation, the better.
Here’s that piece if you haven’t read it yet:
I recommend following him, too. Tyler is someone I admire deeply, and I look forward to hearing his thoughts and opinions on things!
In addition to this piece, I’ve also had the privilege to be on Bridget Querns’ podcast, “Passionate Pursuits.” Here’s the promo image:
I discuss being a polyamorous Christian, allowing space for messy nonmonogamy, growing up in a restrictive environment in regards to sexuality and relationships, and why being your authentic self openly and honestly is the best option.

But more than that, I am so grateful to my subscribers. However, costs are going up, and we desperately need new computers, cars, and more. In order to focus on my work (especially my new book!) I’d love to offer you the opportunity to become a paid subscriber to my work.
So right now, if you sign up for an annual subscription, you can get 20% off for one year.
I hope you’ll consider it. If not, no worries — I’ve been (and tbh, remain) stretched thin financially as well. Thank you for continuing to read and engage with my work. I never imagined that people might actually give a shit about what I think, what I have to say, or how I live my life.
I’ll be posting a new post later this week for paid subscribers only.
Thanks again!
