Last chance... catch me at the Wild Goose Festival this year!
I'm terrified of public speaking, but I'm gonna try my best.
I’ve never actually attended Wild Goose Festival before (though I’ve always wanted to attend) so I’m delighted to be able to first attend as a panelist this year! If you’re going to be there (or happen to live around North Carolina and want to come see me!), here’s the information:
Wild Goose Festival is at the VanHoy Campground in Harmony, NC from July 14 to July 17. I’ll be there July 15-16 only, as we have some family things going on — Ty’s grandmother recently passed away and we are preparing for the funeral.
My panel will be at 5:00PM on Friday, July 15 at the Oasis venue. While I was previously going to be part of a conversation with Reverend Lenny Duncan, they were unable to attend and I will now be going at it alone — though my husband Daniel will be there for emotional support. (Ty is staying home with the kids, but how I wish I could have both my partners there for the non-monogamy panel!)
If you come introduce yourself to me and you know me from online, please don’t be offended if my terrible memory and inability to retain both real name vs. screen name means I don’t recognize you, but definitely come up and introduce yourself anyway! I’ll be the pale girl with tattoos and visibly pink-ish highlights in my brown hair. I’m quite awkward but also quite friendly.
I’m looking forward to seeing you. If you’re unable to attend, these are NOT being recorded officially as far as I’m aware — Daniel may try to record some of it for me, but we are limited to our phones in the middle of nowhere.
With that being said — and since I was laid off from my full-time job in June — I am announcing that I am available to speak (preach?) at your church, group, or organization about non-monogamy, especially Christianity and non-monogamy, and how pastors can better support non-monogamous parishioners, and why you should be accepting of non-monogamous people in your church. Reach out to me at dirtbagchristian@substack.com!
I am trying to keep this blog free — for now.
Hope to see you’
